SFA Artist Portal

This page is for artists whose portfolios have been accepted to SFA. Welcome!

What can you expect from SFA?

  1. As an artist on SFA you will be promoted on our homepage, in the Agora and on our social media accounts. We will always reach out to let you know when we post content that belongs to you (and depending on your form responses, we will also ask for permission beforehand). Additionally, you can reach out to us if you have work you would like us to promote!

  2. Potential clients using sciencefindsart.com to find an illustrator might contact you through our site. We will forward any contact requests to you.

  3. SFA partners with clients and helps them identify suitable artists for upcoming projects. We may contact you with one of these opportunities.

  4. We will keep tabs on your evolving work and help keep your SFA portfolio up-to-date.

  5. SFA is always working to add new features that support our illustrators - we will let you know when new opportunities arise.

Request changes to your SFA Portfolio Page

You can request changes to your portfolio page using the form below. You can also email us directly.

Get involved!

SFA is actively promoted among scientific and artistic communities by the SFA team and a small group of artists that are featured on the site. All of the artists on SFA, if they are interested in doing so, are encouraged to become involved in the direction of the project as it grows. We believe SFA has a lot more potential for community-building among illustrators and repairing the relationship between art and science. We have some pretty lofty goals for the future and we’re always interested in hearing your ideas!

Artist FAQ

  1. How do I make changes to my portfolio?

Use the form above. Please, PLEASE do not hesitate to request as many changes as often as you like! We want to keep SFA up-to-date and we want you to be happy with your page.

  2. What changes can I request?

You can change anything about your page! You can request changes to background colors, links colors, artist bio and info, artist photo, and portfolio images.

  3. Why can't I make the changes myself?

We deliberately avoided making SFA into a membership website (in the same vein of DeviantArt, etc…) because we want:

    • a clean, consistent design

    • flexibility to make layout changes and updates

    • to encourage engagement by artists with us (the SFA team). This is a collaboration!

    • to avoid the frustration and learning curve that comes with a customizable platform

    • to be able to keep content new and up-to-date. Periodically, we’ll remind you to send us your latest work so that you’re always putting your best (and freshest) foot forward.

  4. I have more questions?

You can always chat with members of the SFA team on the SFA Slack. You can also use the contact form or email El directly.
